Thank you Fairwood!
The vote to determine whether or not the Fairwood neighborhood would incorporate as the City of Fairwood took place on November 3, 2009. With over 61% of registered voters participating, incorporation was defeated with over 54% of the vote.
Wrong Choice
The proposed City of Fairwood is the wrong choice for our neighborhood. Without a strong mix of residential and commercial development, we will end up unable to pay for the services provided by every other city in the region. We voted NO in 2006 because we knew it was not economically viable. It would even be worse today.
Wrong Time
The economy is struggling both locally and nationally. With all of this uncertainty, now is not the time to start up a brand new city. Let’s not make a mistake that we will always regret.
Wrong Reasons.
Proponents of the proposed City of Fairwood overestimate revenues and underestimate costs to make the city appear to pencil out financially. We’ve all seen what’s happened to our economy when people cook the books – don’t believe the hype and make the same mistake with Fairwood.

Local 864 Firefighters have endorsed voting no on Fairwood Incorporation. Please see their
